Overview
The Manager of Business & Accounting will be responsible for assisting in both the creation and standardization of processes, procedures and reporting to support our franchise fitness brand. This role involves overseeing accounting, payroll and reporting initiatives across multiple locations, leveraging analytics and technical skills to create and maintain accurate reporting and guide implementation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting practices, financial analysis and payroll management and experience within a franchise or multi-location environment. This is a critical role that requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Accounting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in a multi-unit environment, in coordination with third-party accounting firm, as well as internal reporting and analysis.
- Review monthly reports and G/L details for unusual transactions or incorrect cost categorization.
- Assist with purchasing processes for multiple locations including improvements and implementation of new processes to efficiently manage bills, receipts, and payments.
- Work with third party accounting firm to process bills and summarize for payment decisions.
- Oversee corporate credit card account activity for receipt collection and proper location tagging.
- Assist with loan draws for new locations under construction—tracking contractor bills and lender payments.
- Assist with annual budget process.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Perform ad hoc requests and reports to completion with accuracy.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights via strategic reports to management team.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Analyze location-level utility costs, reviewing for variance explanations.
- Assist in continual improvement of processes and procedures through evaluation of system reporting and structure.
- Oversee projects that directly impact payroll, accounting and finance.
- Optimize project management through timely reporting and data analytics.
- Learn and assist in management of payroll systems to field employee assistance requests, workers comp insurance information updates, and state tax letter inquiries.
- Foster a culture of date-driven decision-making and continuous learning through reporting and analytics.
- Collaborate with operations and franchise support teams to align accounting efforts with business objectives.
- Provide training and support to local teams on accounting and business policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting.
- Strong knowledge accounting principles.
- Excel/Microsoft experience is required.
- QuickBooks online experience is a plus
- Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting.
- Knowledge of internal controls and audit processes.
- Experience with financial closings, statement preparation and analysis.
- Strong understanding of cash flow management.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple initiatives, and meet deadlines.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to the Vice President of Accounting and Finance
- Works in conjunction with the Fit Fusion executive team
