Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy machinery in a safe and efficient manner while assisting with construction, excavation, grading, loading, and other site operations. The successful candidate must have experience operating various types of heavy equipment and be committed to maintaining a safe work environment.

• Safely operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers, backhoes, graders, rollers, and forklifts.
• Perform excavation, grading, trenching, loading, and material handling tasks.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and report equipment malfunctions or repair needs.
• Follow project plans, work orders, and supervisor instructions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Assist with manual labor and other construction-related duties as needed.
• Work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other contractors on-site.
• Maintain accurate equipment logs and daily reports when required.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment in construction, manufacturing, mining, or industrial settings.
• Ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and safety procedures.
• Ability to read site plans and follow work instructions.
• Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required, depending on position).
• Heavy equipment certifications are a plus.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work outdoors for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
• Must have good hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

• Outdoor construction or industrial work sites.
• Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and changing weather conditions.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel-toe boots, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and high-visibility clothing.

• Flexible to work various shifts and overtime when required.
