NOW HIRING: Pharmacy Prior Authorization Representative - HYBRID

Location: Harrisburg, PA
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Pay Range: $21-$23/hour
Position Type: Hybrid (2 days onsite, 3 days remote)

Overview

A-Line Staffing is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician to join a state government pharmacy team. In this role, you'll review prior authorization requests, support providers and pharmacies, and help ensure members receive timely access to prescription benefits.

This is a great opportunity for someone with prior authorization, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), health plan, or managed care experience looking for a stable weekday schedule with a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Process pharmacy prior authorization requests according to established policies and procedures.
• Review requests and issue approvals or denials based on clinical guidelines.
• Communicate authorization decisions to physicians' offices and pharmacies by phone and written correspondence.
• Answer questions from providers, pharmacists, and office staff regarding: Pharmacy benefits, Prescription claim processing, Prior authorizations, formulary coverage
• Research and resolve routine pharmacy benefit issues.
• Accurately document all communications and case activity.
• Assist with preparing policies, procedures, committee agendas, meeting minutes, and other administrative documents.
• Maintain accurate records using internal documentation and tracking systems.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field OR Pharmacy Technician Certification
• Experience working for a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) company or health plan in a managed care pharmacy department.
• Experience processing pharmacy prior authorizations.
• Knowledge of retail pharmacy third-party prescription claims processing.
• Understanding of Prior Authorizations, Quantity Limits, Step Therapy, Generic Drug Programs
• Knowledge of brand and generic medications.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
