Human Resources Generalist - Hybrid Position

Full-time Description Reports to: Human Resources Director FLSA Status: Exempt Position Summary: The HR Generalist will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of Heart Havens’ Human Resources Department, as well as supporting the HR Director in completing strategic objectives. The position coordinates the full-cycle recruitment process, conducts required staff training, manages training trackers, and collaborates with leadership to improve processes. Essential Functions Leads the recruitment process to include screening applicants, scheduling interviews, checking references, and processing all new hire paperwork. Communicates with management throughout the recruitment process about the candidate’s status and/or changes. Assists with posting open positions in various media. Provides support to the Human Resources Director in a wide range of HR-related activities. Tracks and documents compliance with mandatory training. Schedules employees for all mandatory training. Conducts or assists with Therapeutic Options training, HCBS, First AID/CPR, and new hire orientation. Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Conducts monthly LEIE checks of all employees per regulatory requirements. Provides support to staff in handling employee performance issues and handling employment related inquiries escalating these to the HR Director for further review and resolutions. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records, ensuring compliance with DMAS and DBHDS licensing requirements. Performs monthly audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations. Implements employee recognition programs to include acknowledgment of significant milestones and special requests from management. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Education and Experience Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Minimum of 2+ years human resources experience. Experience utilizing electronic record-keeping systems. Qualifications and Expectations Must model Heart Havens’ mission and values in daily actions and leadership. Valid Virginia driver’s license. Must adhere to the company’s hybrid work policy and visit program as needed. This role will perform duties primarily during standard business hours. However, due to the nature of the role, occasional work outside of these hours may be required, including evenings, weekends, to meet operation needs, project deadlines, or client requirements. The employee will be provided reasonable notice whenever possible and will be authorized to flex their schedule in accordance with company policy. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. High level of organization and time management. Ability to establish priorities and carry out activities accordingly. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Proficient in utilizing electronic client record-keeping systems (internal and external). Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; comfortable using technology for communication, data analysis, and reporting. Physical Demands Ability to remain in a stationary position, particularly, but not limited to, at a computer or in meetings for an extended period of time. Long-term visual review of electronic documents and data. Frequent repetitive use of hands/arms for computer use. Frequent communication: in-person, phone, and electronic.
