Part-Time Event Production Coordinator

About the Position The Part‑Time Event Production Coordinator will be responsible for the setup, operation, and breakdown of technical and non‑technical equipment for events held at the Mason Square campus in Arlington, VA. The Coordinator will also serve as one of the onsite shift supervisors, providing direction and guidance to event support staff. Responsibilities Assist the Audio Visual Manager by having excellent working knowledge of all A/V systems in Van Metre Hall event venues, including setup and support of various live streaming platforms. Respond to and troubleshoot technical issues and provide user support during events when required. Verify all equipment requests for events are set up in the exact manner as described on the set‑up report. Maintain order in all storerooms and ensure that aisles and mechanical equipment areas are kept clear of equipment. Assist the Event Manager with program needs while enforcing user responsibilities of Mason Square Arlington. Identify maintenance discrepancies and/or damages within event spaces and forward them to the Event Manager. Required Qualifications Must be a high school graduate. Understanding of audio/visual equipment used to support events and multimedia applications. Possess outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and efficiently with a diverse audience. Possess strong customer service, time management, and organizational skills with high attention to detail. Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to safely and independently move items up to 50 pounds. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications At least six months of experience working in an audio/visual tech support capacity. Willingness to learn A/V and multimedia applications, conference A/V set‑up, and streaming tools and platforms. Familiarity with higher education.
