Job Title: RN PICU Profession: Nursing Specialty: RN Medical Center Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2 years PICU RN experience License: IL RN license Certifications: BLS, PALS, NRP highly preferred Must-Have: Previous travel experience not required Description: RN needed for Pediatric ICU/PCICU. The facility has 300 licensed beds with Trauma Designation. It is a Teaching Hospital and Stroke Center. The unit consists of 19-23 beds, with an average census of 15-18 patients per day. The patient ratio for RN is 2:1. The unit culture emphasizes teamwork and friendliness. Candidate requirements include an IL RN license and 2 years of PICU RN experience. Common patient types include respiratory issues, congenital heart disease, hematology/oncology, post-operative, and trauma cases. Support within the department includes CNAs for patient care and room preparations. Additional support roles are available, including Receptionist, Charge Nurse, Phlebotomy, IV Team, Resource Nurse, and Tele Tech. Respiratory therapists, Hospitalists, and Intensivists are available 24/7. Technology used in the unit includes EMR, Alaris IV, Pyxis Med Dispense, and Med Sonic Monitors. Navy scrubs are required for this position.
