Senior Java Developer

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Java Developer to come and join one of our largest financial clients in Jersey City, NJ. They will be joining the Technology Services Group that is focusing on a new initiative centered around advancing the public cloud across their application structures. This person will be responsible for the hands on development and automation of these structures. This project within the overall initiative is called Storefront. This is an orchestration and provisioning engine that builds VMs for the other teams to use, then those teams take the VMs to build out whatever they need. All the other teams have to come to storefront to get the hardware they need to continue building. The developers will be responsible for developing and connecting the automation that they currently already have to build out VMs and use the automation to build out VMs in Azure. This person needs to be a hands on Java Developer that is familiar with automation and test suites since they will be automated test suites to test their code. In addition, they should have hands on experience building out APIs and a working knowledge of the SDLC.

Skills and Requirements

-7+ years of experience as a hands-on Java developer

-Strong object oriented development and design skills

-Experience building out APIs

-Hands-on experience with automated testing

-Strong working experience with Linux -Exposure to Azure

-Exposure to modern tooling and infrastructure: Docker, Vagrant, Terraform

-Experience with CI/CD automation with GitLab and other open source tools

-Experience/Exposure to virtualization technologies and cloud computing (VMWare/vSphere)
