The company is targeting $50 billion in annual revenue within the decade through accretive acquisitions and organic growth.The CDL Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of building materials, construction products, and equipment to customer locations and job sites. This role combines commercial driving responsibilities with hands-on support in loading, unloading, securing, and verifying materials while ensuring compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and company safety standards. Depending on the business unit, deliveries may include oversized, specialized, or engineered building components. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, customer-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment.Safe Transportation & DeliverySafely transport building materials, products, and equipment to customer locations according to established routes and delivery schedulesConduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and company policiesPlan delivery routes while accounting for traffic, weather, road restrictions, and jobsite accessibilityMaintain regular communication with dispatch regarding departure, arrival, delays, route changes, and delivery statusObtain customer signatures, delivery confirmations, and required documentation upon deliveryRepresent QXO professionally during all customer interactionsLoading, Securement & Material HandlingVerify load accuracy and inspect materials prior to departureSafely load, secure, and transport materials using proper load securement methods, including straps, chains, binders, and tie-downs as appropriateAssist with loading and unloading materials while following safe lifting and material handling practicesPerform touch-freight duties, including lifting, carrying, and moving products as requiredVerify delivered materials with customers and document discrepancies or damaged productsCustomer ServiceDeliver exceptional customer service during each deliveryCommunicate professionally with customers regarding delivery schedules, product questions, and jobsite requirementsAssist customers with unloading and placement of materials when appropriateNotify branch personnel of customer concerns, jobsite issues, or service opportunitiesEquipment & DocumentationMaintain a clean, safe, and professional company vehicleComplete inspection reports, delivery documentation, electronic logs, and mobile application updates accurately and on timeUtilize GPS, route planning software, mobile applications, and electronic delivery systems effectivelyReport vehicle maintenance concerns, equipment issues, accidents, or safety incidents immediatelySafety & ComplianceFollow all DOT/FMCSA regulations and company driving policiesWear required PPE and maintain safe work practices at all timesInspect delivery sites to identify hazards and ensure safe loading and unloading conditionsUse spotters when maneuvering in congested or hazardous areas whenever possibleAdapt safely to changing weather, road, and jobsite conditionsPromote a safety-first culture while protecting company assets and customer propertyPerform additional duties as assignedWhat you'll bring:Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and safe driving practicesExcellent customer service and communication skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to safetyAbility to work independently while managing daily delivery schedulesStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to operate mobile applications, GPS systems, and electronic delivery toolsMust be 21 years of age or olderValid CDL Class A (preferred) or B license in good standingMinimum 1–2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferredExperience operating flatbed trucks, tractor-trailers, manual transmissions, or oversized load vehicles preferredForklift experience (Moffett preferred) or ability to operate material handling equipment is a plusExperience delivering building materials, construction products, trusses, wall panels, steel, rebar, roofing, or similar products preferredClean driving record and ability to meet company driving requirementsAbility to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background requirements as applicablePrimarily field-based with frequent driving throughout assigned service areasRegular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, traffic, construction sites, warehouses, and customer facilitiesAbility to frequently sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, and enter or exit commercial vehiclesAbility to lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to 80 pounds or more using proper lifting techniquesFrequent use of load securement equipment, mobile technology, and material handling equipmentMay require overtime, weekend work, overnight travel, or flexible schedules based on operational needsWhat you'll earn:Health Care BenefitsPaid Time OffBenefits for union-represented roles are determined by the applicable collective bargaining agreement and may differ from standard company benefits.QXO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
