RECREATION CENTER MANAGER III (CLASS CODE 6119)

Professional work in planning, scheduling, directing, and supervising the activities of a large community recreation center; and related work as required. Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Recreation, Parks Administration, Leisure Activities, Health, Physical Education, Fine Arts, Performing Arts or a related field* and two (2) years of experience in the coordination and/or administration of community services or recreational programs. A high school diploma or G.E.D.* and six (6) years of experience in the coordination and/or administration of community services or recreational programs. Permanent status as a Recreation Center Manager II and two (2) years of experience in that classification. NOTE: Appropriate volunteer experience which can be documented by a recognized agency will be accepted at the rate of 40 hours of experience for each week of work. Applicants must submit a written statement from the volunteer agency specifying the number of hours worked and describing the duties of the job. *Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification. This position requires a one (1) year probationary period.
