Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Swanton Sector, Richford Station, located in Richford, VT. As a Mission Support Specialist (Generalist) , you will assist with providing direct advice and guidance to USBP employees at all levels. Duties and responsibilities include:
- Processing lost, stolen, destroyed, or missing personal property.
- Providing support in the processing of damaged vehicles and the scheduling of repairs.
- Providing assistance with the local agency's fleet card program to include ordering cards, performing audits, extracting reports, reconciling invoices, reporting fraud and processing override requests.
- Coordinating facility repairs and ensuring that requests for such are recorded into the facilities management system.

- Researching suppliers and working with requesters to procure goods and services, then preparing required documents and submits for approval.
- Coordinating with supervisor and staff to ensure receipt of documents and that actions are completed in a timely manner.
- Gathering necessary information and preparing briefing materials for the supervisor or other senior management officials.
- Preparing reports with data from internal data sources as well as Agency automated systems for regular and one-time informational needs by senior managers.
- Assisting higher graded specialists and supervisor with managing base pay, premium pay, overtime, and leave entitlements and administration.
- Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
- Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 08/10/2026.

- A dependent who was authorized to accompany a federal civilian or member of the military who was working for the U.S. government
- Participation in a study abroad program sponsored by a U.S. affiliated college or university
- Working as a contractor, intern, consultant or volunteer supporting the U.S. government
