Corewell Health Wayne Hospital opened its doors to western Wayne communities in 1957. This full-service hospital is the only hospital in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster, and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III Trauma Center. The hospital has a longstanding partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a wide variety of health and communicable disease concerns including mass trauma and emergency patients.

Under minimal direction, the Registered Respiratory Therapist: implements and evaluates diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiopulmonary and related disorders; participates in the education of patients, students, staff, and physicians; provides technical support for all equipment related to the practice of Respiratory Care; assists with general department functions.

• Required Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy
• Respiratory Therapist License - State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or American Red Cross Upon Hire required
