Overview Position: Licensed Psychotherapist — Teens & Families Part-Time | 1099 Independent Contractor | Afternoon/Evening Hours | Virtual or Hybrid About Jones Hill Jones Hill Center is a multidisciplinary private-pay group practice serving teens and families, young adults, postpartum and pregnant parents, and Americans posted overseas. Located in Falls Church, Virginia and licensed across Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC, our team brings together clinical therapy, neuropsychological evaluation, and educational and executive functioning support under one roof. Our clinical work is built on research-backed approaches for serious and complex presentations. We work closely with referring providers — pediatricians, school counselors, psychiatrists, and therapists across the DC Metro area — and we are active contributors to suicide prevention and adolescent anxiety research through affiliations with Catholic University of America and Yale School of Medicine. We are a practice that takes its clinicians as seriously as it takes its clients. We believe that for real success to occur, the client, the clinician, and the practice all need to have their needs met. We invest in the people who join this team because the quality of care we offer depends on it. The Opportunity We are looking for a licensed therapist — or a pre-licensed clinician on track for licensure — who wants to build a meaningful caseload working with teenagers and families navigating genuinely hard situations. This is not a generalist position. We are looking for someone who is drawn to complexity, committed to evidence-based practice, and serious about their own clinical development. This is a part-time 1099 independent contractor position with a caseload of up to 15 clients per week, with the opportunity to grow. Afternoon and evening hours only — which is exactly when the families we serve need us most. There is no expectation of in-person days, though our Falls Church office is available to see clients on-site. If the right fit develops, there is a clear path toward expanded hours and a deeper role within the practice. Who You Will Work With Our primary client population is teens and their families — parents who are past the point of waiting to see if things improve, and teenagers navigating some of the hardest presentations in adolescent mental health. You will also have the opportunity to work with young adults and, depending on your background and interests, perinatal clients and foreign service families. Presenting concerns include: Suicidal ideation and self-harm Anxiety, OCD, and school refusal Eating disorders — anorexia and bulimia Emotional dysregulation Trauma and PTSD Family conflict and relational stress Life transitions — adolescence, young adulthood, major life changes What Jones Hill Offers We are deliberate about the environment we are building. Joining Jones Hill means: Clinical Development Access to DBT and EMDR training — prioritized for clinicians joining the team Opportunity to co-lead groups alongside experienced clinicians Regular case conceptualization as part of ongoing clinical support Connection to an active research community in suicide prevention and evidence-based adolescent treatment Team and Collaboration A genuine multidisciplinary team — you will work alongside a clinical neuropsychologist and an educational and executive functioning specialist, not just other therapists Coordinated care model — your clients benefit from the full Jones Hill team when needed A small, intentional practice where your voice matters and your caseload is built with care Flexibility Virtual or hybrid — you choose what works Afternoon and evening scheduling — built for clinicians with existing commitments Independent contractor structure with a clear path to full time W-2 employment with benefits if desired Qualifications Master or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field Active licensure in at least one of the following: Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, DC (LCSW, LICSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) Commitment to obtaining licensure in all three jurisdictions Experience working with adolescents and families — clinical or practicum Grounded in evidence-based practice — you believe the research matters and you use it Strong clinical instincts and the judgment to apply frameworks to real, complex people Pre-Licensed Candidates LGSW or LMSW (or equivalent) required prior to start date Supervision provided at no cost — no supervision fee Must be actively pursuing full licensure Preferred Familiarity with DBT, EMDR, CAMS, SPACE, or Family-Based Treatment Experience with high-acuity presentations including suicidality, eating disorders, or OCD Interest in or experience with perinatal mental health or internationally mobile families Spanish language fluency — a meaningful asset for our population Who You Are You take the clinical work seriously without taking yourself too seriously.
