Opportunity Overview

We are looking for a board-certified or board-eligible neurosurgeon specializing in complex cranial surgery to become part of a high-achieving, integrated neuroscience team within our organization. The primary location for this role will be at Sutter Medical Center Sacramento (Midtown Sacramento). This position will contribute to comprehensive stroke care and advanced cranial neurosurgery across the hospitals in the Sutter Valley network.

Qualifications

Certification Status

• Clinical Expertise
  Proficient in open cerebrovascular surgery, including aneurysm clipping
  Skilled in open and/or endoscopic skull base surgery
  Capable of managing complex cranial and skull base conditions in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including stroke, neurocritical care, neurointerventional, ENT, and trauma specialists.

  Training and Experience
  Board certified or board eligible in Neurosurgery
  Fellowship training or equivalent experience in open cerebrovascular and/or skull base surgery
  Proven experience with low-frequency, high-acuity cranial cases
  A strong commitment to collaborative, team-oriented care within an integrated healthcare system.

  Call Responsibilities
  Participation in a unified neurosurgery call panel.
  The on-call neurosurgeon will act as the primary physician for neurosurgical emergencies, with established protocols for rare, specialized cases.

  Additional Opportunities
  Besides the main practice in Sacramento, there may be chances to engage in cranial and trauma call at Sutter Roseville Medical Center , depending on interest, privileges, and system requirements.
