Overview Happy Camper - Old Town is hiring a Cashier & Food Runner. Base pay range is $18.00/hr - $20.00/hr. This role involves managing carry out transactions, delivering food to tables, and supporting in-house service while ensuring accuracy and customer satisfaction. Location Happy Camper - Old Town, 1209 N Wells Street, Chicago, IL 60610 Responsibilities Manage transactions with customers Facilitate online orders through restaurant POS system Answer the phone and take carry out orders Take in-house to go orders Double check all orders for accuracy Knowledge of the food menu and table numbers Collect payments whether in cash or credit; issue receipts and change Maintain a clean and tidy checkout area Strong communication and time management skills Customer satisfaction-focused Manage third-party delivery apps (e.g., Doordash, UberEats, Caviar, Postmates, Grubhub) Other Functions Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth operation as directed by management Comply with health and food safety standards; restock items and clean Operate the cash register, answer phones, provide great customer service Take on other responsibilities as assigned by Management Physical Functions Stand and walk for extended periods Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying Work in warm and cool environments with high noise levels Be able to tolerate potential allergens (peanuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish) Qualifications, Education and Behavior High school diploma or equivalent preferred Ability to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all staff Ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions for clarification if needed Able to stand for long periods and safely lift/maneuver trays of food Ability to handle money accurately and operate a POS system Restaurant experience a plus Certifications/Experience Food Handlers certification required Previous restaurant experience preferred Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate: $18-20/hr (Based on Experience). Plus earn up to $2-$4/hr extra in tips. On average at this location, tips may vary.
