PeopleReady Skilled Trades is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented  Welder to join our team in a  full-time, temp-to-hire position in the Fredericksburg, VA area .

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the fabrication of various metal components, general structural and mechanical maintenance, and the operation of a variety of machinery.

This role requires expertise in MIG welding, uphill welding, working with carbon steel and solid core materials, and the ability to  read and interpret blueprints/drawings to execute precise fabrication and repairs. Key Responsibilities:

• Fabrication Work: Create gates, posts, brackets, and other components to meet design specifications.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to guide fabrication and welding tasks.
• Maintenance Tasks: Perform general structural and mechanical maintenance to ensure systems are functioning optimally.
• Equipment Operation:  Safely operate a variety of machines, including but not limited to:
• Press brake
• Plasma cutter
• Guillotine
• Lathe
• Mill
• Drill press
• MIG and stick welders
• Bandsaw
• Various power tools
• Material Expertise: Work with carbon steel, solid core materials, and perform MIG welding and uphill welding with precision and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of commercial experience in welding and fabrication.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MIG welding, uphill welding, working with carbon steel and solid core materials, and blueprint/drawing interpretation.
• Equipment Knowledge: Experience operating a wide range of machinery and tools in a fabrication or maintenance environment.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to produce high-quality work that adheres to technical specifications and design requirements.
• Physical Requirements: Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks.
• Safety Focus: Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

Must be able to work any shift where needed

Have reliable transportation

Pass welding/fabrication test

Work all required hours and days

A background check may be required for this position

The hourly rate for this position is $21-$25/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
