Professional Summary The position involves supervisory and administrative work, managing operational and strategic functions in utility planning. Responsibilities include developing utility strategic plans, supporting staff on strategic initiatives, managing strategic projects and programs, and liaising with committees on strategic policy, communication, and engagement. Responsibilities Develop utility strategic plans and master plans. Support and advise staff on strategic initiatives. Manage strategic projects and programs. Liaise with committees on strategic policy, communication, and engagement. Supervise professional staff, including hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating work. Maintain delegated authority for supervisory functions. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Eight (8) years of exempt-level experience in planning (utility, business, urban, regional, military, or similar). At least three years of that experience must have involved developing strategic plans, supporting and advising staff on strategic initiatives, and managing strategic projects and programs. At least two years of that experience must be supervisory. Preferred Qualifications Experience in water utility program planning (storm water drainage, drinking water, sewerage, power generation). Experience in green infrastructure planning or project management. Certification Requirements A Strategic Management Professional (SMP), Strategic Planning Professional (SPP), or American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification must be obtained during the probationary period, which may not exceed one year. Failure to obtain the required certification will result in termination.
