CT Technologist - Per Diem

The CT Technologist performs computed tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation and assists with interventional and therapeutic procedures. Responsibilities Performs complex CT procedures. Evaluates radiographs to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value. Uses appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from medical records, health‑care proxies, and providers to prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety. Determines patient readiness for the procedure. Prepares patient for scanning (shielding, immobilization devices). Assists providers with CT‑guided interventional procedures as required. Performs CT examinations and administers contrast following established protocols. Provides accurate explanations and instructions to patients at an appropriate level. Performs venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to guidelines. Monitors the patient’s physical condition during the procedure. Reviews images to determine if additional scans are necessary. Performs retrospective reconstruction on raw data. Provides technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents. Adheres to the principles of image gently & image wisely. Follows infection control guidelines and sterile techniques. Revises scanning parameters to better visualize pathology according to protocol. Reviews all diagnostic or therapeutic data for completeness and accuracy. Documents diagnostic, treatment, and patient data in the appropriate record. Archives images to data storage devices according to guidelines. Assesses equipment to determine acceptable performance. Performs daily clerical duties using EPIC, PACS, Teletracking System, and other hospital computer systems. Greets all patients upon arrival using AIDET standards. Administers emergency care, including CPR if necessary. Manages scheduled shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed. Provides on‑call assignments per Department of Radiology policy. Adheres to Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality policies. Identifies and addresses patient population needs, communicating at appropriate levels. Adheres to the Medical Center’s Organizational Competencies. Performs modality‑specific daily and monthly QA. Completes other duties and projects as assigned. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day. Qualifications High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Completion of an AMA‑approved school of Radiologic Technology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Licenses and Certifications American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT, CT) within 9 months of entering the position. NJ state license for Diagnostic Radiology (D.R.). AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification within 60 days of entering the position. Job Duties and Compensation The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of any specific offer. Available departmental budget and grant funding. Some positions may also be eligible for performance‑based incentives, bonuses, promotions, or shift differentials for evening, night, or weekend work. In addition to the base compensation, HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits. Minimum rate: $44.30 per hour. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency.
