Profession: IMC Specialty: Dietary Services Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 5x8 - Days - M-F Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Experience: Minimum of one year of clinical experience preferred License: Current Registered Dietitian status Certifications: Completion of an ACEND accredited Dietetic Internship with at least 1,000 supervised practice hours Must-Have: - Proficiency with PC software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook - Familiarity with menu management software and electronic medical systems - Critical thinking and problem-solving skills - Good interpersonal and communication skills in English, both verbal and written - Ability to stand, walk, sit, and bend for extended periods

Description: The dietitian plans and delivers nutritional care to patients according to up-to-date clinical standards and judgment. This position functions as a member of the multidisciplinary care team and serves as a liaison between dietary services and the medical team. The dietitian screens newly admitted patients to identify those at nutritional risk and completes nutritional assessments based on departmental needs. Independent judgment is exercised under the general supervision of management. Adherence to all departmental policies and procedures is required.

Job Responsibilities: Daily review of status boards from electronic medical record data to determine patient caseload based on established criteria. Completes assessments, reassessments, and screenings based on priority. Reviews medical records and confers with patients, families, and staff to evaluate nutritional status. Consults with medical staff on appropriate nutrition interventions and care plans. Documents nutritional status assessments according to established standards. Utilizes the Nutrition Care Process standards when completing assessments. Employs the Nutrition Focused Physical Exam to assess patients at risk for malnutrition. Provides nutrition counseling and education to patients and family members per physician requests. Participates in medical rounds as needed. Completes nutritional assessments in outpatient clinic areas as assigned. Submits daily productivity reports to management. Conducts audits for food and nutrition services to evaluate quality standards. Engages in performance improvement activities as required. Assists in orienting and training new employees to the department. Maintains professional relationships with all staff. Conducts in-service training for hospital staff and the community as requested. Involved in developing and implementing patient nutrition care programs. Treats patients, families, and staff with respect and dignity. Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and the ability to function under stress. Performs all aspects of patient care in a safe environment, reducing the likelihood of medical errors. Completes additional duties as required.
