Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to neonatal patients in the NICU, ensuring safety and comfort for fragile infants. Collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver developmentally appropriate, evidence-based care.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments to neonatal patients following the five patient rights and hospital protocols.
• Monitor and assess neonatal conditions, escalating concerns promptly to the medical team.
• Operate and troubleshoot NICU equipment such as ventilators, feeding pumps, and monitors.
• Document patient care accurately using EMR systems, including Meditech and CPN.
• Assist with procedures like intubations, UAC/UVC placements, and bedside surgical interventions.
• Promote safe sleeping practices and developmentally appropriate care for preterm infants.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with at least 1 year of NICU experience.
• BLS and NRP certifications are required.
• Demonstrate proficiency in medication administration, lab draws, and neonatal care procedures.
• Knowledge of NICU equipment, patient safety standards, and escalation protocols.
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments with attention to detail.
• Experience managing patients with respiratory support such as CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and vents.
