Preschool CookThe Preschool Cook is responsible for guaranteeing the children are served nutritious, tasty and appealing meals and snacks. They will prepare and serve food and maintain the kitchen and dining area in sanitary condition. The Preschool Cook must plan and create nutritious menu options that the children will enjoy and comply with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Additional responsibilities are planning, preparation, serving, and clean-up of all meals and snacks.Roles and ResponsibilitiesValid Texas Food Safety Manager CertificationPlan and prepare foods in accordance with CACFP requirements.Submit food and supplies necessary to prepare the planned menus for the number of enrolled children and staff to be ordered by the center deadline.Plan meals far enough ahead to minimize the need for food substitutions; when substitutions are necessary, with prior approval, purchase and serve food of equivalent nutritional value.
