Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) - Almost Home Kids Chicago PRN Location Chicago, United States Job Description PRN 12‑hour night shifts (7 p.m.–7 a.m.) only. Work at the Chicago location of Almost Home Kids, a community‑based care system for children with medical complexities. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. ADN accepted with BSN completion commitment. Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Illinois. Minimum 1 year of RN experience. New‑grad RN’s (less than one year experience) are not eligible. CPR certification required. Ability to effectively communicate with patients/families, physicians, and hospital staff. Ability to hold children and react quickly to emergency situations. Job Duties Perform nursing assessments utilizing a variety of assessment methods and/or area‑specific tools. Develop or individualize care plans and goals to meet family needs, and evaluate and document changes. Develop or individualize teaching plans/protocols to meet patient and family learning needs; identify patient preferences and motivation to learn, and evaluate changes. Provide nursing care according to procedures and protocols; anticipate imminent medical situations and intervene effectively. Communicate with families and multidisciplinary team members to identify health‑care needs, convey changes in patient status, and utilize resources for referrals or consultations. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge in nursing practice through current literature; problem‑solve as needed. Incorporate current hospital and department quality initiatives into daily activities. Adhere to communication, service excellence, and professional image standards that support the mission and philosophy. Cooperate with team members to achieve unit/hospital goals. Identify learning needs and seek resources to advance practice and achieve professional goals. Perform job functions with a customer‑service focus, delivering high‑quality care and service to patients, families, co‑workers and others. Demonstrate knowledge of protocols related to chemical disinfection, high‑level disinfection, and sterilization when required. Maintain Basic Life Support certification. Special certifications may be required by department. Education Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required). Pay Range Hourly: $39.00–$64.35.
