Woodyard Operations Leader — Safety & Logistics

THOMPSON HARDWOODS INCHAZLEHURST, GAWe are seeking an experienced Woodyard Supervisor to oversee log yard operations within our sawmill facility. This position is responsible for supervising personnel, coordinating log flow, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring efficient yard operations. The ideal candidate will have prior supervisory experience in an industrial environment and a strong understanding of heavy equipment and log yard operations.Key Responsibilities:Supervise daily woodyard operations, including log receiving, scaling, unloading, staging, and inventory managementLead and manage yard personnel, including operators and driversEnsure safe and efficient traffic flow within the yardEnforce company safety policies and OSHA regulationsMonitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance as neededMaintain accurate inventory records and communicate log supply needs to mill managementTrain, coach, and evaluate employeesCoordinate with production and maintenance teams to ensure continuous mill operationAddress operational issues and implement process improvementsBENEFITS PACKAGE AVAILABLE, 5 DAYS WORK WEEK, 12 HRS SHIFTS, PTO, 401K, AND MOREHOURLY PAID POSITION, PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREEN REQUIRED, BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREDQualifications:Previous supervisory experience required (industrial or sawmill environment preferred)Experience working in a log yard or heavy industrial setting strongly preferredStrong leadership and team management skillsKnowledge of heavy equipment operations (loaders, log trucks, etc.)Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor industrial environmentExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsStrong commitment to workplace safetyWork Environment:Outdoor industrial log yard settingExposure to weather conditions, dust, and high noise levelsActive environment with heavy equipment and truck trafficPhysical Requirements:Ability to walk the yard and monitor operations for extended periodsAbility to work in varying weather conditionsAbility to climb equipment or access elevated areas as needed #J-18808-Ljbffr The Beasley Group
