Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, MOAB Must-Have: Geriatric behavioral health experience is essential. Experience with bipolar disorders, degenerative disorders (Alzheimer's, ALS, Parkinson's), depressive disorders, and schizophrenia-spectrum disorders is required. Description: This position involves working within a geriatric behavioral health unit. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:8, with an average daily census of 15. The unit consists of 14 rooms and has a total of 20 beds. Nurses are expected to work four night shifts each week, from 18:45 to 07:15. The role may require floating to different areas as needed. Weekend shifts are required every other week. Daily responsibilities include medication administration and employing de-escalation techniques when necessary. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and more. Candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility when required. All RTO (Request Time Off) must be pre-approved, with a maximum of 7 days allowed. Full compliance with all testing and protocols is expected before starting the role. A solid understanding of the charting system used in the unit is preferable.
