Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid State License required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, FHM, NRP, NCC EFM acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Must-Have: - Experience with fetal heart monitoring - Experience with high-risk pregnancy monitoring - Ability to assist with vaginal deliveries - Ability to circulate for C-sections - Experience with postpartum couplet care Description: This position involves working in a labor and delivery unit. The unit has four antepartum rooms and nine labor/high-risk rooms. There are three triage rooms available. No on-call shifts are required, but floating to postpartum is expected if needed. Fetal heart monitoring and high-risk pregnancy monitoring are essential duties. Nurses will be involved in both vaginal deliveries and C-sections. Postpartum care is provided only if there are not enough perinatal registered nurses available. Nurses may also assist with newborn roles during delivery. Interdisciplinary support is available, including respiratory services and social services. Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, and adults. The hospital handles approximately 200-300 deliveries per month. Privacy is critical, especially as the facility serves high-profile individuals. Travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state. All travelers must work three of the five holidays, including major holidays.
