Location Chicago, IL (Hybrid schedule with office and field work) Role Summary The Staff Air Quality Consultant will support air permitting and environmental compliance projects while gaining hands‑on experience across industrial and commercial facilities. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to develop technical skills, work alongside experienced consultants, and build a strong foundation in environmental consulting. Responsibilities Support air quality and environmental compliance projects across office and field settings Assist with emissions calculations, data analysis, and technical reporting Review and interpret environmental regulations and apply them to client operations Conduct site visits including sampling and field data collection when needed Support preparation of permit applications and regulatory submittals Collaborate with senior staff on client communication and agency coordination Assist in preparing reports, proposals, and other project deliverables Help maintain strong client relationships through responsiveness and professionalism Support business development and marketing efforts as needed Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field 2+ years of relevant experience (consulting, regulatory, or field-based work) Basic understanding of air quality regulations and environmental compliance concepts Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Willingness to conduct occasional field work and site visits Preferred Qualifications Exposure to air emissions calculations or permitting work Internship or consulting experience within environmental services Interest in industrial or manufacturing operations Eagerness to learn and grow within a consulting environment What's in it for You Strong mentorship and hands‑on training from experienced consultants Opportunity to build technical expertise in air quality and compliance Exposure to a wide range of industrial and commercial projects Collaborative, growth‑focused team environment Competitive compensation: $75K-$110K base + bonus potential Comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, and PTO How to Apply Apply directly or send your resume with the subject line: Staff Air Quality Consultant - Chicago.
