This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that's constantly evolving.Position SummaryThe Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Manager in overseeing daily department operations, driving sales, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards for product quality, freshness, food safety, and presentation. This role assists with associate development, inventory management, merchandising, and operational execution while ensuring compliance with company policies and food safety regulations.Key Responsibilities Department OperationsAssist in managing day-to-day bakery department operations.Ensure products are properly baked, packaged, stocked, rotated, and displayed.Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards.Support execution of merchandising plans, seasonal programs, and sales promotions.Monitor department conditions to ensure operational readiness throughout business hours.Customer ServiceDeliver exceptional service and create a customer-focused environment.Assist customers with product selection, custom orders, and special requests.Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.Promote bakery products through product knowledge and suggestive selling.Leadership & Associate DevelopmentProvide leadership, coaching, and support to bakery associates.Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.Support associate development and succession planning efforts.Inventory & Financial PerformanceAssist with inventory management, ordering, and product replenishment.Monitor shrink, waste, and out-of-stock conditions.Support labor management and department expense control initiatives.Help achieve departmental sales, margin, and profitability goals.Food Safety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.Maintain proper product handling, labeling, and rotation procedures.Follow company safety programs and operational policies.Assist with audits, inspections, and corrective action plans as needed.Merchandising & Product QualityMaintain attractive bakery displays and merchandising standards.Monitor product quality, freshness, and shelf life.Ensure promotional and seasonal products are properly displayed.Support production planning to meet customer demand while minimizing waste.We also provide a variety of benefits including:Competitive wages paid weeklyAccess to up to 50% of your earned wages before payday, via our partnership with StreamAssociate discountsHealth and financial well-being benefits for eligible associates (Medical, Dental, 401k and more!)Time off (vacation, holidays, sick pay).
