Type: Contract

Role Overview

Own the SAP BusinessObjects/Business Intelligence platform lifecycle (install, configure, patch/upgrade, secure, monitor), ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness, and partner with development teams and business stakeholders to keep BI services reliable and performant. Wording aligns with the BO admin responsibilities we've used previously (CMC, BI Launchpad, server management, security, migrations)

Key Responsibilities
• Platform Administration: Install, configure, patch, and upgrade BO/BI servers; manage server groups, nodes, clusters; administer CMC / BI Launchpad; enforce platform security and folder/project structures.
• User & Content Management: Provision users and groups; set granular permissions; curate universes, connections (including DSN/TNS), and schedules; promote content across Dev/QA/Prod with proper approvals.
• Operations & Performance: Monitor services, jobs, and instances; analyze logs; tune platform and database connections for throughput and stability; support monthly/quarterly OS/DB patch windows.
• Disaster Recovery (DR): Design and maintain DR runbooks; define/validate RPO/RTO; implement backup/restore of CMS DB & Input/Output FRS; configure failover/failback; lead periodic DR drills and audit readiness.
• Migration & Regression: Lead content migrations (including large-scale waves); for inventory, movement, and regression validation.
• Cross-Platform Collaboration: Work with Windows/Linux admins and DB teams; coordinate release/change windows; communicate outages and status updates clearly to stakeholders.

Required Skills
• SAP BO/BI: Strong hands-on with 4.3 (SPs) and readiness for BI 2025; expertise in CMC, LaunchPad, server clustering, scheduling, promotions, security.
• Databases & SQL: Proficient writing/optimizing complex SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL/MySQL); understanding of views, stored procedures, query tuning, and connection pooling.
• DR & HA: Practical experience creating DR plans, backups, recovery procedures, and executing DR tests; familiarity with CMS repository design and FRS behaviors under failover.
• OS & Infra: Working knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration for BO services.
• Communication & Problem-Solving: Clear stakeholder communication; root-cause analysis; incident management; analytical thinking under pressure.
• Plus/Good-to-have: Admin familiarity with Tableau / Power BI (licensing, site/workspace setup, access governance, scheduling).
• Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent experience.
• Certifications in SAP BO is beneficial.
