Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery Location: Bronx, New York Department: Department Of Neurosurgery Work Days: MON-FRI Scheduled Hours: 8 AM-5:30 PM Scheduled Daily Hours: 8.5 HOURS The Department of Neurological Surgery is seeking a Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery to join the faculty of Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Medical Staff of Montefiore Health System and lead the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery. The Chief position will include clinical, education, research and administrative responsibilities under the Department Chair’s direction. The Chief will work closely with the Department Chair to assist in strategic planning and operational oversight, ensuring excellence in research, teaching and patient care. The Chief needs to collaborate with leadership of Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) and various clinical departments to innovate and integrate neurosurgical services across the health system in addition to mentoring junior faculty and supporting the clinical and educational activities of the Department of Neurosurgery. The Chief needs to demonstrate competence in various areas including clinical, surgical, pre and post operative patient care. The Chief will be expected to remain compliant with all the policies and regulations, and maintain professional and effective working relationships with colleagues, support team and department and hospital leadership. The Chief is also expected to promote the division/department services and educate the medical community and the public. Responsibilities Provide clinical care, including surgical management of pediatric neurosurgical patients. Lead clinical, educational, research and administrative functions under the Department Chair. Assist in strategic planning and operational oversight to ensure excellence in research, teaching and patient care. Collaborate with leadership of Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) and other clinical departments to integrate neurosurgical services. Mentor junior faculty and support clinical and educational activities within the Department. Demonstrate competence in pre‑operative, operative and post‑operative patient care. Maintain compliance with all policies and regulations and sustain professional working relationships with colleagues, staff and leadership. Promote division and department services to the medical community and the public. Qualifications MD with residency in neurosurgery and approved fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery. ABNS Board Eligible/Board Certified and eligible for an unrestricted New York Medical License. Preferred fellowship‑trained candidates. 5–15 years of practice, with demonstrated excellence in developing an academic clinical practice and leading high‑performing teams. Research experience supported in line with track‑record and career goals. Benefits Competitive salary range of $750,000–$1,000,000. 403(b) with matching contributions.
