Job Type Full-time Description The Edgewater Police Department is seeking enthusiastic and team-oriented individuals to immediately fill the position of POST-Certified Police Officer. The City of Edgewater is a city of approximately 5,000 residents nestled betweenthe cities of Denver, Wheat Ridge, and Lakewood. Edgewater offers a unique small-town atmosphere within minutes of the downtown Denver area. Edgewater Police Department offers: FPPA Pension Retirement Program Medical, dental, vision individual / family plan Health Reimbursement Account, Flexible Spending Account, Life Insurance - ($0 monthly expense to Officer Vacation leave, Sick leave, Personal leave, & 12 paid holidays a year Police Officer Step Plan: The Edgewater Police Department has a competitive pay structure with a 7-step plan.*Two lateral entry points depending on experience & education. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Thorough understanding of police and investigative procedures, processes, and techniques. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. • Extensive knowledge of criminal law and procedure. • Ability to correctly and safely handle and operate weapons and police equipment. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn investigative tools, applications, and software. Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Political Science, Public Administration, or related field preferred. • Graduation from police academy (Colorado POST certified) or currently in academy. Salary Description $73,022 - $109,798
