Job Description
Job Description
THE ORGANIZATION
The Center for Justice Innovation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing community safety and racial justice. Since 1996, we’ve worked alongside communities, courts, and those most directly affected by the justice system to build stronger, healthier, and more equitable neighborhoods. With a team of over 900 staff and an annual budget of $130 million, the Center carries out its mission through three core strategies:
- Operating Programs that pilot new ideas and address local challenges;
- Conducting original research to evaluate what works—and what doesn’t; and
- Providing expert assistance and policy guidance to reformers across the country and beyond.
Backed by decades of on-the-ground experience and nationally recognized expertise, we bring innovative, practical, and lasting solutions to justice systems nationwide.

- Oversee day‑to‑day operations to ensure effective service delivery, coordinated workflows, and timely resolution of issues;
- Develop and maintain staffing plans and coverage for traditional Reset and same‑day programming;
- Collaborate with diversion leadership to refine policies and operational practices that improve efficiency, clarity, and consistency across teams;
- Monitor team performance and participant trends, implementing strategies to close gaps and improve outcomes;
- Provide real‑time guidance and escalation support for complex cases, operational challenges, and stakeholder concerns;
- Manage team caseloads by assigning/reassigning cases to team members;
- Collaborate with the Center’s Court Reform team and other Center Project sites to ensure alignment, cross‑site coordination, and application of shared best practices;
- Collaborate with diversion program leadership on cross-program initiatives, coverage needs, special projects, and piloting new initiatives; and
- Attend and provide managerial support to Brooklyn Justice Initiatives events and activities, as needed.
Data & Quality Assurance:
- Oversee documentation, data entry, reporting, and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and compliance;
- Partner with the Center’s Research team on evaluation activities, improvements to data collection, and reporting requirements; and
- Track referral volume and identify trends in charges, participant needs, and program utilization to inform program adjustments and data‑driven improvements.

- Support the Project Director with stakeholder engagement, presentations, and trainings for court partners and NYPD;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with court stakeholders to promote program utilization and collaborative problem‑solving;
- Manage relationships with community partners and subcontractors, including scheduling sessions, providing feedback on logistics or curriculum, and ensuring timely and accurate attendance reporting; and
- Identify and cultivate community partnerships to strengthen Project Reset’s impact and expand resources available to participants.
Participant Engagement:
- In collaboration with the Director of Diversion Services and Clinical Supervision, develop and deliver new group‑based programming for Project Reset participants;
- Provide referrals addressing needs such as substance use, mental health, trauma, housing, and employment;
- Ensure participants are connected with legal counsel to address court‑related issues and potential collateral consequences;
- Conduct outreach, intake, case management sessions, and facilitate group programming;
- Provide participants with documentation reflecting program completion and case resolution; and
- Deliver de‑escalation and crisis intervention with guidance from the Director of Diversion Services and Clinical Supervision.
Qualifications:

- Supervisory experience preferred;
- Experience facilitating groups, providing case management, crisis intervention, and resource navigation preferred;
- Knowledge of courthouse operations and legal terminology is a plus;

- Strong understanding of diversion models and familiarity with criminal legal system stakeholders.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills;
