Automation Engineer

Natera

Natera seeks an Automation Engineer to deploy and optimize automated laboratory systems, including liquid handlers and analytical instruments. This intermediate role involves troubleshooting, sustaining engineering, project execution, and documentation within a production automation team.

Responsibilities

Deploy liquid handling robotics for capacity expansion and system upgrades
Perform complex troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance; provide second-tier support to service team
Execute continuous improvement projects across Stabilize, Standardize, and Optimize portfolio categories
Draft SOPs, work instructions, and contribute to production engineering documentation
Support performance qualification and verification activities for new or updated automated methods

Requirements

Solid foundation in sustaining engineering and troubleshooting of automated systems
Understanding of complex automated liquid handling systems used in laboratory settings
Experience with laboratory automation platforms, workcells, and analytical instruments
Proficiency in relevant controlling, scheduling, and supporting software
Strong documentation skills and familiarity with Good Documentation Practices
Ability to work independently on medium-complexity projects with guidance on high-complexity work
