Job Description

The IIS Help Desk Specialist provides technical and programmatic support to internal and external users of the Kansas Immunization Information System (KSWebIZ), including healthcare providers, schools, childcare facilities, health plans, Immunization Program staff, partner organizations, and members of the public. The position evaluates user questions and reported issues related to system access, account management, immunization record requests, data entry, and system functionality and determines the appropriate resolution. A significant part of the work requires translating technical system information, policies, privacy and security requirements, and program procedures into clear, understandable guidance for users with varying levels of technical knowledge.

The position reviews KSWebIZ user registration and access requests to determine whether individuals are authorized and required documentation has been provided; creates, denies, updates, and inactivates user and facility accounts; assigns appropriate roles and permissions; and assists users throughout the access process. The position also reviews documentation submitted for immunization record requests, determines whether release requirements have been met, and releases information in accordance with KSWebIZ policies and applicable HIPAA, FERPA, privacy, and security requirements.

Skills and Requirements

One year of experience in general office, administrative support, customer service, technical support, or assisting system users. Experience must include communicating information, applying policies or procedures, and using computer systems Experience providing technical or system support and explaining technical information to users with varying levels of knowledge
