Job Description: SAP Cloud ERP, Business Consultant – SCM (MM) & Procurement (PTP)

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP Cloud ERP (S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition) Business Consultant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working with S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition capabilities, best practices, and implementation strategies or similar experience. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless connectivity between various systems, enhancing business processes, and driving digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Consultation & Strategy

• Collaborate with end customers to understand business processes and requirements.
• Develop and provide expert guidance on SAP Cloud ERP capabilities, best practices, and implementation strategies.

Implementation & Configuration

• Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP Cloud ERP, Public Edition solutions using the SAP Activate Methodology.
• Ensure solutions align with end customers' needs and requirements and SAP Fit to Standard best practices.
• Manage timelines and deliverables to ensure successful project completion.
• Navigate and manage multiple implementation projects in parallel.
• Fit-to-Standard delivery in the Public Edition - Practical understanding of what the Public Edition allows: standard scope items and best-practice process flows, self-service configuration, key-user extensibility, released APIs and events for integration, output management, and the discipline of designing to standard within a semiannual release cycle.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and project managers, to deliver cohesive solutions.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring clear understanding of project scopes, timelines, and deliverables.

Training & Documentation

• Develop and deliver training sessions for end-users and stakeholders.
• Create detailed documentation for system configurations and processes.

Support & Organization

• Provide ongoing support and maintenance of SAP Cloud ERP, Public Edition systems after completion of the initial implementation.
• Identify opportunities for system enhancements and optimization to improve business processes.

Line of Business Experience:

• SCM (MM) & Procurement (PTP) end-to-end process design: Deep working knowledge of the full buying cycle in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition: purchase requisition, source determination, purchase order, goods receipt, supplier invoice verification with two- and three-way match, goods receipt/invoice receipt (GR/IR) clearing, and handoff to Accounts Payable for payment.
• Purchase Contracts: Command of quantity and value contracts, source lists, quota arrangements, and purchasing information records, including price conditions, release orders against contracts, contract consumption tracking, and automatic source determination.
• Requisitioning and approvals: Configuration of manual, self-service, and planning-generated purchase requisitions; purchasing organization and purchasing group design; flexible workflow for requisition and purchase order release; spend limits and approval hierarchies; and requisition-to-order conversion, including automatic purchase order creation.
• Procurement operating models: Experience across direct and indirect procurement, services procurement with service entry sheets, limit and free-text orders, consumable purchasing with account assignment to cost center, project, or sales order.
• Subcontracting: Design and configuration of subcontracting purchase orders, component lists and bills of material for subcontracted items, provision of components to the supplier, stock of material provided to vendor, goods receipt with automatic component consumption, and subcontracting monitoring applications.
• Consignment: Working knowledge of supplier consignment: consignment information records and pricing, consignment stock ownership and visibility, withdrawal and transfer to own stock, consumption postings, and consignment settlement to create the supplier liability.
• Core Inventory Management: Expertise in goods receipts, goods issues, transfer postings, reservations, and material documents; storage location design; material valuation using standard and moving average price; physical inventory and cycle counting; blocked, quality, and restricted-use stock.
• Batch Management: Configuration of batch master data and classification, batch determination and selection strategies, shelf-life expiration and first-expired-first-out handling, batch-specific valuation where applicable, and batch traceability and genealogy to support recall, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Stock Transfers: Design of intra-company and cross-company stock transport orders, one-step and two-step transfers, transfers with and without delivery and billing, stock in transit, plant-to-plant and storage-location-to-storage-location movements, and intercompany pricing and transfer-price valuation.
• Inbound and Outbound Logistics: Inbound delivery and advanced shipping notification processing, supplier confirmations, putaway and goods receipt against delivery, and quality inspection handoff; outbound delivery creation, picking, packing, handling units, and goods issue.
• Material master and supply planning: Material master governance across the purchasing and planning views; Material Requirements Planning (MRP) types, lot sizing, safety stock, reorder point planning, planning runs, and exception handling; and how planned demand converts into requisitions and purchase orders.
• Reporting and analytics: Fluency with embedded analytics and standard SAP Fiori analytical applications covering spend, purchase order and contract coverage, on-time delivery, inventory turns, stock ageing, and supplier performance — Ability to translate a customer's reporting request into the right standard tool using CDS Views.

Qualifications:

Education

• A bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, or a related field.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience with SAP Cloud ERP implementations.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Location

• Remote in North America with some travel required. You work from home but must travel to customer sites for major milestones—expecting an average of one 3-day trip per month typically inside the USA.
