KHI Radiation Therapist Position

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining up to date competencies and high quality standard of care for:

• Treatment delivery and IMRT process flow
• Verification simulation process flow
• Setup simulation process flow
• Clinical treatment process flow
• Treatment delivery and imaging flow for SRS and SBRT
• Dosimetry planning flow
• Ensures all departmental policies are met
• Demonstrates submission of accurate billing/treatment information to ensure compliance with related billing charges
• Demonstrates radiation safety knowledge and compliance with state regulations
• Maintains and ensures ACR practice parameters for radiation therapy
• Fulfills the role and responsibilities of a licensed radiation therapist

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program. Preferably from an educational institution approved by the ARRT, JCERT, or the ACR.

Certification/Licensure:

• Current Arizona Medical Radiologic Technologist certificate/licensure.
• Certification by American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) registry in Radiation Therapy
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association

Education: Associate's degree or Bachelors' with certification preferred

• Category I: Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues
• Other potential hazard(s): possible exposure to chemical substances; possible exposure to hostile individuals

Work Requirements

Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity hand-eye coordination

Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills

Requires standing/sitting for extensive periods of time

Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal
