GIS Support Services Supervisor

Salary: $85,800 - 115,416 per year Requirements:

• We require professional-level experience as a GIS analyst or specialist delivering GIS products and services within an enterprise setting.
• We require the ability to identify business needs for GIS solutions, select suitable platforms, technologies, data sources, and products, and document solution requirements.
• We require strong knowledge of cartography and spatial analysis principles.
• We require professional experience applying ESRI geospatial technologies to enterprise and business-unit needs, including troubleshooting technical GIS issues and training others.
• We require hands-on experience with ESRI Enterprise Portal, ArcGIS Online, and other web or cloud SaaS technologies for developing, managing, and publishing web services in a public agency environment.
• We require coursework or training in geospatial data management, spatial analysis, cartography, or geospatial data science.
• We require professional-level technical writing and presentation skills, including the ability to promote GIS services and solutions to stakeholders through demonstrations and public speaking.
• We require experience building and sustaining positive working relationships with both technical and non-technical customers and coworkers.
• We require a commitment to continuous learning and a service-oriented approach.
• We prefer experience translating ambiguous business problems into technical geospatial requirements and designing future-state GIS solutions.
• We prefer project management experience, including setting measurable goals, tracking progress, and delivering quality results on time.
• We prefer experience supervising technical staff, including performance management, strategic planning, and coaching.
• We prefer working knowledge of GIS-based Linear Referencing Systems (LRS).
• We prefer professional experience with relational databases and data extraction tools and techniques.

• We supervise professional GIS technology specialists who provide helpdesk support, web GIS administration, and agency-wide GIS training.
• We direct configuration and customization of web-based geospatial tools, along with consultation and development for custom GIS projects and products.
• We provide advanced business analysis and solution consulting for GIS technologies.
• We oversee the administration of web-based GIS systems and technical processes so geospatial web content meets business needs.
• We manage cartographic product development and ongoing maintenance.
• We support Emergency Operations Center activities and participate actively in the WSDOT Incident Management Team.
• We serve in assigned Command and General Staff roles during applicable EOCs and respond with little or no notice to disasters or major incidents.
