CNC Machinist

Job Title: CNC Machinist Job Description

This role focuses on CNC machining of OEM parts used to build fabrication equipment. You will set up and operate CNC machines, interpret blueprints, and work with G- and M-codes, chucks and jaws, offsets, and changeovers to produce high-quality components. The position requires strong attention to detail, solid blueprint reading skills, and the ability to work confidently with a variety of tools and measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines to manufacture OEM parts for fabrication equipment.

• Program, adjust, and run CNC equipment using G- and M-codes to meet production specifications.

• Install and adjust chucks, jaws, and workholding fixtures to securely and accurately hold parts.

• Perform machine offsets and changeovers to accommodate different parts and production runs.

• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.

• Use tools and measuring devices, including tape measures, to verify part dimensions and ensure accuracy.

• Operate CNC plasma cutting equipment, burn tables, and plasma torches as required.

• Support fabrication processes using CNC setup and laser equipment when needed.

• Monitor machine performance, identify issues, and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.

• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area in the shop.

• Collaborate with team members and support internal growth opportunities such as engineering and welding as needed.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating CNC machines in a fabrication or machining environment.

• Ability to work with G- and M-codes for CNC programming and operation.

• Proficiency in setting up CNC equipment, including chucks, jaws, and workholding fixtures.

• Hands-on experience performing machine offsets and changeovers.

• Strong blueprint reading skills and ability to interpret technical drawings.

• Comfort working with tools and measuring devices, including tape measures, to verify dimensions.

• Experience with plasma cutting, burn tables, and plasma torches.

• Ability to operate CNCs and laser equipment used in fabrication processes.

Work Environment

This position is on 2nd shift, working from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The shop is clean, organized, and quiet, providing a comfortable environment for focused machining work. You will operate CNC machines, plasma cutting equipment, burn tables, plasma torches, and laser equipment within a fabrication setting. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mequon, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
