Job Description
Day to Day:
We are seeking 2 Technical Writers to help support the site engineering & maintenance teams at a large pharmaceutical expansion in the Raleigh-Durham area. This role will act as a bridge between maintenance technicians, master data, and documentation systems, ensuring all procedures are accurate, standardized, and progressing on schedule. This role will require 75% technical writing expertise of standardized maintenance plans and documentation created by technicians and 25% workflow documentation, coordination and tracking. Progress will need to be tracked via a master document list, weekly progress reviews with the team and status tracking of what is on track, off track and where adjustments are needed. This individual will play a key role in supporting site buildout, operational readiness, and ongoing manufacturing support within a GMP-regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
Document Development & Review
Review and polish maintenance procedures created by maintenance technicians
Bring a structured, standardized format to existing documentation
Ensure procedures are clear, complete, and aligned with site expectations
Maintenance Program Support
- Work alongside maintenance technicians who are:
o Evaluating equipment
o Determining required maintenance
o Building maintenance plans
- Help translate this work into formal documentation and procedures
Document Management & Tracking
Own and manage documentation flow and status tracking
Maintain a master list of required documents, including:
o What needs to be completed
o Ownership
o Due dates (with visibility over the next ~2 years)
Track where documents are in the lifecycle (draft ? review ? final)
Follow up with document authors to ensure timely completion
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with:
o Maintenance teams (utilities + production)
o Master Data Specialists (for SAP integration)
- Support upload and integration of finalized documentation into SAP

Skills and Requirements
Must haves:
GMP / Pharma experience
2-10 years of technical writing experience
Experience with SAP
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work cross functionally, manage multiple priorities, and deliver in fact paced buildout environment Preferred (not required):
Maintenance background highly preferred
Veeva Vault familiarity (nice-to-have; training available)
Prior greenfield experience
