About the Role:
Wyckoff Veterinary Hospital is looking for a passionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant or Technician to join our caring team in Wyckoff, NJ. Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples including blood draws, urinalysis, and cytology
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Monitor and care for patients pre- and post-operatively
- Take and develop digital radiographs (X-rays)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment
- Communicate compassionately with pet owners regarding treatment plans and home care instructions
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a veterinary assistant, vet tech, or in an animal care setting preferred
- CVT/RVT licensure a plus but not required
- Comfortable handling animals of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a high-energy clinical environment
- Basic knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, medications, and procedures
- Genuine compassion for animals and commitment to quality patient care
