The Sanctuary Golf Club, a prestigious, Member-owned private golf club located in beautiful Sanibel, FL is accepting applications for full-time Seasonal Servers and Food Runners.

Our newly renovated Clubhouse spaces offer an exciting, updated environment for our Food and Beverage team to work. The transformation includes a brand new bar with 18+ seats and 35 additional casual dining seats, a flexible dining space for private events and social gatherings, improved acoustics, and completely updated furnishing and finishes.

Compensation: Base hourly rate, plus share of gratuities/service charges.

• Servers - total compensation typically avg. between $25/hr. - $40/hr.
• Food Runners - total compensation typically avg. between $20/hr. - $35/hr.

Schedule: Flexibility and dependability is required. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Requirements

Servers are responsible for upholding The Sanctuary's standards of excellence by providing Members and Guests with the finest dining through their knowledge of our menus, specials and wine list. Working with a team of Food Runners, Bartenders and Kitchen staff, Servers help ensure that each experience is seamless by utilizing the Club's exclusive steps of service.

• Set up side stations and perform assigned side work
• Provide immediate attention to all Members and Guests upon seating; regularly use Members' names
• Answer questions knowledgeably in relation to menus, specials, wines or cocktails
• Take Members' and Guests' orders; suggestive sell food/beverage items and place orders in POS system in a timely manner
• Ensure that all charges to Member accounts are accurate and complete
• Place orders with Kitchen, inform Chefs of any special cooking instructions, preferences or allergies
• Communicate with Kitchen and Service staff to help create an even flow of service
• Serve meals; place dishes by courses appropriately in front of each person
• Check back to ensure Member and Guest satisfaction; replenish water and butter as necessary
• Present dessert menus, suggest and serves dessert, coffee and after dinner drinks
• Remove soiled dishes, keep tables, dining room and bus station areas clean
• Advise management of any complaints or concerns from Members or Guests as soon as they occur
• Perform clean-up, closing tasks and other duties as assigned by management

Food Runners serve as the liaison between the Kitchen and Servers. Supporting the Food and Beverage team, they are responsible for carrying food trays to appropriate tables and serving food, as well as preparing service stations, clearing and resetting tables, removing trays from the dining/banquet rooms, setting up/breaking down rooms, and cleaning and closing service stations.

• Set up side stations and perform assigned side work
• Serve meals; place dishes by courses appropriately in front of each person
• Fill waters, clear soiled dishes, keep tables, dining room and bus station areas clean
• Ensure all items in "to go" orders are correctly assembled, labeled and delivered to correct vehicles
• Set up dining areas with the appropriate equipment and materials (tables, chairs, glasses, china, etc.)
• Verify that all scheduled functions are set according to Banquet Event Order (BEO) specifications
• Set lighting, props, floral arrangement, decorations, etc., as specified in the BEO
• Break down and clean service stations in the Kitchen at the end of the shift
• Advise management of any complaints or concerns from Members or Guests as soon as they occur
• Perform clean-up, closing tasks and other duties as assigned by management

Education, Experience, Skills and Requirements

• Previous server/food runner experience, preferred; private club environment, a plus
• Must consistently demonstrate friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, obliging and attentive service to Members and Guests in all areas of the Club, including the dining room, banquet, and spaces in and around the Clubhouse
• Demonstrate outstanding professionalism and helpfulness to everyone, including coworkers
• Approach each shift with a positive attitude and commitment to the team
• Food safety certification (or must obtain certification after starting)
• Must be dependable and available to work nights, holidays and weekends

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Required to stand for long periods throughout shifts and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
• Push, pull, lift, move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to endure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties for extended periods, including moving large tables, chairs and other dining and event-related furniture and equipment
• Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position
• Work in hot, humid and noisy environment
