Future Opening: Residential AV Service Technician

Works independently and with other team members to service and install equipment, program systems and lead residential AV projects. This position has broad scale knowledge of residential audio, video, security, surveillance and control systems. May be responsible for leading, training and mentoring less experienced technicians. Responsibilities Travel to client site to resolve various technical problems, perform software updates, complete small scale new installations or system additions. Provide Service Manager with project status updates. Complete quality control checks using Job Form. Employ project management principles to successfully execute AV projects on-time and within budget. Exhibit professionalism and provide excellent customer service. Act as a resource for residential AV technical knowledge. Perform advanced troubleshooting of simple and complex systems. Install and deploy advanced networking/data systems. Program automation, lighting, shading, surveillance and security systems. Coach, lead, train and mentor less experienced technicians. Complete required training and certifications; maintain certification levels for all position requirements. Adhere to and maintain quality standards. Qualifications Minimum 5 years AV field experience demonstrating proficiency in all of the previously posted job responsibilities. High school diploma or GED. PCNA Certification (or comparable). Lutron RA3 Certification preferred but not required. RTI programming proficiency preferred but not required. URC programming proficiency preferred but not required. Savant programming proficiency preferred but not required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Detail-oriented, organized, and multi-tasker. Self-motivated, task driven, and able to apply “best practices” theory. Strong problem‑solving skills; creates in‑field solutions. Ability to work overtime as needed. Ability to travel overnight for training and installations as needed. Maintains a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Clean background check. Proficiency using hand and power tools. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to work on ladders, lifts and at high elevations.
