Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Virginia

Schedule: 13-week assignment, night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week. Weekend coverage required with variable scheduling based on departmental needs. Every other holiday required. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. Up to 40 hours of requested time off may be approved during the contract period.

• High-acuity Emergency Department with Level I Trauma, Comprehensive Stroke, and STEMI Chest Pain Center designations
• Busy department with 165 patient visits daily and 71 treatment rooms
• Patient ratios of 4-5 patients across all shifts including weekends
• Epic electronic medical record system utilized
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and interpretation services
• 24-hour orientation provided with facility-specific modules completed during onboarding
• Patient population includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• Must have either 1 year of Level I trauma facility experience OR 2 years of Level II trauma facility experience
• Pediatric patient care experience required (does not need to be in a dedicated pediatric emergency department)
• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (pending licenses accepted if obtained by the Wednesday before start date)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required; TNCC may be pending at submission but must be obtained before start date
• Epic charting system experience required
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions
• BSN preferred
• Professional references required with submission
