About the Position

Job Opportunity – Emergency Department RN – Virginia

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Central Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week contract, night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week. Weekend coverage required with variable scheduling based on staffing needs. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays.

Highlights:

• High-acuity Emergency Department with 71 beds serving approximately 165 visits daily
• Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Chest Pain (STEMI) Center experience
• Patient ratios of 4-5 patients across all shifts
• Epic electronic medical records system
• Mixed patient population including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• 24 hours of orientation with comprehensive onboarding support
• Maximum 40 hours approved time off during contract

Requirements:

• Active or pending Virginia RN license (must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• At least 1 year of Level I Trauma Center experience OR 2 years of Level II Trauma Center experience
• Pediatric patient care experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• TNCC certification required (can submit with pending status but must obtain before start date)
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
