About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Research Enablement Officer (CREO) to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the full research enterprise. The successful candidate will be responsible for aligning core services that support research enablement, including research administration, research computing and data services, and library collections and programs. This role requires a senior leader with a minimum of 10 years' experience in research operations, enablement, or support, and a proven track record of managing complex organizations and leading change in a highly decentralized environment. The CREO will be a key partner in shaping research policies and services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of research innovation and accountability. Candidates for the CREO position at the company should have an advanced degree and a strong background in integrating diverse operational units into a unified, service-oriented research enterprise. The role demands a strategic and collaborative leader with the ability to drive organizational transformation, build high-performing teams, and advance research excellence. Experience in areas such as digital scholarship, open science initiatives, data governance, and the responsible use of AI in research is essential. The ideal candidate will also have a deep understanding of research integrity frameworks, compliance requirements, and a strong network within the academic and research community. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills are required to influence and build consensus among a diverse set of stakeholders.
