Head of Finance

Currently recruiting a Head of Finance & College Accountant for our Cambridge based client. You will lead a high-performing finance function and provide a full range of financial services across the organisation. Reporting into the Senior Bursar, you’ll take a senior leadership role, overseeing statutory and management accounting, strengthening financial controls and systems, and supporting longer‑term financial strategy. You’ll also manage and develop a finance team of eight and work closely with budget holders across the organisation. Key responsibilities Lead the finance team and day‑to‑day finance operations. Deliver statutory accounts, management accounts and high‑quality financial reporting. Own financial planning, budgeting and forecasting. Ensure effective controls, processes and compliance. Partner with stakeholders to improve financial insight and decision‑making. You will hold a recognised accountancy qualification ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, have strong experience producing statutory accounts, charity/not‑for‑profit experience preferred, exposure to subsidiary statutory accounts, advanced Excel skills and proven people management experience and strong stakeholder communication.
