Job OverviewA law firm seeks an Associate to join its Litigation group, focusing on Product Liability, Mass Torts, and Class Actions, in Washington, DC. This role is open to candidates across the US, with a preference for those based in the New York metropolitan area. Duties Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy. Draft well-reasoned legal documents, including briefs and motions. Assist in managing complex cases from inception to resolution. Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular updates and advice. Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative case strategies. Participate in high-level legal activities such as court hearings and negotiations. Ensure compliance with legal standards and stay updated on legal precedents. Engage in professional development to enhance legal and leadership skills. Contribute to firm programs, civic organizations, and pro bono work. Requirements Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm. Experience with class action defense, including securities, data privacy, or consumer litigation. Experience managing multi-matter dockets. Previous federal clerkship is preferred. Strong persuasive legal writing skills. Experience in large-scale discovery of matters. Education Juris Doctor (JD) Certifications Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction of application. Skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and good professional judgment. Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Persuasive communication and management skills.
