Job Title: Asphalt Plant General Laborer

Location: Byram, MS and Philadelphia, MS

We are looking for an Asphalt plant General Laborer to perform physically demanding work to support plant operations and paving crews. Duties include cleaning and maintaining plant equipment, shoveling raw materials, pulling material samples, and ensuring safety compliance. Laborers often work outdoors in extreme weather conditions. (Must be willing to work at both Byram, MS and Philadelphia, MS Plant)

Core Responsibilities

• Equipment Maintenance: Assist with greasing, cleaning, and adjusting heavy machinery.
• Material Handling: Load, unload, and spread raw materials like asphalt, gravel, and sand.
• Site Housekeeping: Clear away debris, clean up spills, and maintain a tidy, safe plant environment.
• Quality Control: Pull oil and cold feed samples for testing.
• Safety: Adhere strictly to OSHA and MSHA regulations, including the use of required PPE .

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen with a “Negative” result.
• Must be able to complete a post- offer physical with a “Capable” result
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
• Experience preferred.

Work Environment:

This role operates in both office and active construction site environments. Candidate must be able to perform site walks, attend field meetings, and ensure on-site safety and compliance.
