Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives by providing vital support as a Dyslexia Interventionist and Special Education Teacher. In this onsite, contract opportunity, you’ll work with K-12 students, leveraging your expertise to deliver evidence-based interventions and foster academic growth for learners with dyslexia as well as those served by special education programs.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Special Education Certification
- Reading by Design Certification required
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher, specializing in dyslexia intervention
- Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
- Ability to tailor multisensory instructional strategies for diverse learners
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and school staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to K-12 students in both special education and dyslexia intervention settings
- Design, implement, and monitor IEPs and intervention plans
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success
- Utilize Reading by Design curriculum and other research-based strategies to accelerate student learning
- Maintain thorough documentation of progress and attend IEP meetings
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages confidence and self-advocacy
