Patent Agent and Technical Specialist

A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a skilled Patent Agent and Technical Specialist to enhance their intellectual property team. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics and demonstrate strong capabilities in patent application preparation and prosecution. With a minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience, the candidate should have technical expertise in wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking. Duties Draft and prosecute patent applications, including preparing and amending claims, specifications, and responses to office actions. Conduct detailed technical evaluations related to wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking. Perform prior art searches and assess the patentability of inventions. Collaborate with inventors, clients, and legal teams to develop and implement effective patent strategies. Provide expert advice on intellectual property issues such as patentability, infringement, and freedom-to-operate. Prepare and review patent-related documents and correspondence. Monitor developments in patent laws and technical advancements to provide up-to-date advice. Offer technical support during patent litigation and other intellectual property disputes. Manage and prioritize multiple patent prosecution projects to ensure timely and efficient outcomes. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution. Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics. Technical experience with wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking. Strong skills in patent application preparation and prosecution.
