Job Title: CDL B Boom Truck Driver

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday – Friday, daytime shift; subject to a varied work schedule and may be requested to work overtime and weekends for special programs.

Position Purpose

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious CDL B Driver to join our team at Parks Building Solutions. This position is responsible for delivering building supplies to customers and job sites in a safe and timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate a CDL B commercial vehicle to transport building materials to designated locations.
• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Load and unload materials safely using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts, hand trucks, or pallet jacks.
• Verify orders against invoices and obtain customer signatures upon delivery.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any mechanical issues.
• Comply with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and hours of service.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including inventory control and stock organization.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

Sound knowledge of road safety regulations.

Clean driving record with no moving violations.

Meet 2 yr. DOT physical requirements to maintain DOT medical card.

Understand and follow DOT regulations.

Ability to utilize GPS and local road maps.

Able to operate an iPad/tablet.

Ability to operate hand trucks and electric lifts.

Alert, focused, and detail oriented.

Effective communication skills.

Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.

High level of composure and good stress management.

Must pass pre-employment drug test and random drug tests after hiring.

Education, Experience, Licensing Requirements

Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record with a valid DOT medical card.

Minimum of 1-2 years of commercial driving experience, preferably in a building supply or construction-related industry.

Minimum of 1 year Boom truck operation experience (preferred)

Management Preference

High school diploma. GED, or equivalent

Forklift certification or ability to obtain one is preferred.

Working Conditions
Outdoor environment includes conditions of dust, noise, temperature variations and rain/snow.

Physical requirements
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat kneel, climb, and reach overhead. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
