This unique opportunity is ideal for a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) who is committed to enhancing quality of life for long-term care residents through sensory integration interventions and therapeutic programming.This role will focus on program development, direct resident treatment, staff education, and integration of sensory-based approaches throughout our therapy services. The Lead Sensory Integration Therapist will work under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Director and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to improve resident outcomes and overall well-being.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a comprehensive Sensory Integration Program for long-term care residents.Evaluate residents and provide individualized sensory integration assessments and treatment plans.Deliver direct therapy services utilizing sensory integration principles and evidence-based practices.Identify opportunities to improve resident engagement, comfort, behavior management, and quality of life through sensory-based interventions.Train, mentor, and support therapy staff in the implementation of sensory integration techniques.Collaborate with nursing, activities, social services, and other interdisciplinary team members to incorporate sensory integration strategies into resident care plans.Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on resident outcomes.Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility, state, and federal requirements.QualificationsCurrent licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR).Experience working in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or geriatric settings preferred.Strong interest, experience, or specialized training in sensory integration and sensory-based therapeutic interventions.Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.Passion for improving the lives of long-term care residents through innovative therapeutic approaches.Ability to educate and support staff in the implementation of new clinical programs.Why Join Us?Opportunity to build and lead a new clinical program from the ground up.Collaborative and supportive rehabilitation team.Meaningful work that directly impacts resident quality of life.Competitive compensation with pay at the upper end of the therapist salary range based on experience and qualifications.Professional growth and leadership development opportunities.If you are a therapist who is passionate about sensory integration and excited to create meaningful change for residents, we encourage you to applyQualificationEducation and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, prefer graduates of Masters or Doctorate Program in Occupational Therapy. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsLicensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state. Employee must meet continuing education requirements per state practices. Must maintain a license in good standing at all times with the state board. Determine additional certification as appropriate per facility. CPR certification, if required by licensure.Physical DemandsThe essential functions of this position require the ability to stand and walk frequently and sit occasionally, as well as occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to provide resident care and operate equipment. The position requires the ability to reach, push, pull, lift, and manipulate objects and equipment, with exertion that may occasionally exceed 100 pounds, frequently exceed 50 pounds, or constantly exceed 20 pounds to safely move residents or equipment. Effective communication, including talking and hearing, is required to interact with residents, families, and the healthcare team. The ability to perceive and respond to environmental cues, including tactile, auditory, and visual information, is essential for safe and effective resident care.
