Job Title: Mechanical Assembler Job Description
The Mechanical Assembler performs a variety of electronic and electromechanical assembly operations on components and subassemblies. You use schematics, blueprints, wiring lists, and clear verbal and written instructions to assemble, rework, and reassemble units while ensuring all products meet required specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities

• Solder cables to connectors with precision and attention to detail.
• Assemble through-hole and surface mount electronic assemblies according to specifications.
• Build and assemble complex mechanical assemblies using appropriate tools and methods.
• Interface directly with customers in a professional manner when required.
• Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
• Assemble parts or units and position, align, and fasten them to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames using hand tools and power tools.
• Perform basic functional tests and in-circuit tests (ICT) on completed assemblies.
• Position, align, and adjust parts to achieve proper fit and assembly.
• Connect cables, tubes, and wiring according to specifications and work instructions.
• Attach name plates and mark identifying information on parts and assemblies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to determine component parts and assembly sequences of electromechanical units.
• Follow detailed work instructions and circuit-cam directions to complete assembly tasks accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with cleanroom manufacturing standards.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively in a production environment.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in the assembly of electronic assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions for electromechanical units.
• Proficiency in soldering, including soldering cables to connectors and printed circuit boards (PCBs).
• Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly using hand tools and power tools.
• Basic working knowledge and experience with computers for production and documentation tasks.
• Ability to understand and execute circuit-cam instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Skill in using and identifying hand tools such as power drivers, wire cutters, nut drivers, torque wrenches, and similar equipment.
• Comfort working in a cleanroom manufacturing and production environment.
• Ability to perform basic functional and ICT testing on assembled units.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet quality, tolerance, and specification requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience assembling both through-hole and surface mount electronic assemblies.
• Background in mechanical assembly using tape measures and other measuring tools.
• Familiarity with using blueprints and work instructions in a production setting.
• Experience working with hand and power tools in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to connect cables, tubes, and wiring according to detailed specifications.
• Comfort with inspecting and adjusting units to meet customer order requirements.
• Experience attaching name plates and applying identifying marks on parts and assemblies.
• Strong communication skills for interfacing with customers and collaborating with team members.

Work Environment
You work in a cleanroom manufacturing environment designed for precision electronic and mechanical assembly. The role follows a first-shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, providing consistent daytime hours. You use a variety of hand and power tools, follow detailed work instructions and blueprints, and operate within a structured production setting focused on quality and safety.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suwanee, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
